User Roles and Permissions

Overview

User roles determine what actions a user can perform within Kira Talent.

When inviting a new team member, you must assign them a role. The role controls which areas of the platform they can access and what actions they can perform.

Kira Talent supports three user roles:

  • Reviewer
  • Staff
  • Administrator

Understanding Kira Review and Kira Manage

Before selecting a role, it is helpful to understand the two areas of Kira Talent.

Kira Review

Kira Review is where reviewers complete and manage applicant reviews. It is dedicated to reviewing activity only.

Kira Manage

Kira Manage is where administrators and staff manage applicants, assessments, and team members. It serves as the control centre for your organization.

Important: Role and Assessment Access Are Managed Separately

Assigning a user the Staff role does not automatically grant access to every assessment. Staff members can only access assessments they have been granted access to.

Choosing the Right Role

Reviewer

Assign the Reviewer role to users who only need to evaluate applicants.

Reviewers can:

  • Complete reviews
  • Add notes
  • Access Kira Review

Reviewers cannot:

  • Access Kira Manage
  • Create assessments
  • Invite applicants
  • Manage team members

Staff

Assign the Staff role to users who support assessment administration and applicant management.

Staff can:

  • Access Kira Manage
  • Create and edit assessments
  • Invite applicants
  • Grant retakes
  • View reviews and notes from other team members

Staff cannot:

  • Invite team members
  • Manage team members

Administrator

Assign the Administrator role to users responsible for managing assessments and users.

Administrators have the highest level of access within Kira Talent, including:

  • Managing assessments
  • Managing applicants
  • Managing team members
  • Assigning assessment access
  • Viewing all assessments and insights

Updating a User's Role

To update a user's role:

  1. Navigate to Team.
  2. Locate the user.
  3. Select the three-dot menu.
  4. Select Manage Role.
  5. Select the new role.
  6. Save your changes.
