Integrate with Kira Talent's API

Kira's API lets your institution connect Kira directly to the systems you already use — your CRM, student information system, or admissions database — so information moves between them automatically instead of needing to switch between both platforms.

If you want more information on how to add an integration to your Kira account, please reach out to your contact on the Kira Client Success team or the Kira Sales team.

Where is the documentation?

The full technical reference lives here: Kira API Documentation

It covers authentication, available endpoints, request and response formats, and example calls. Your developers will find everything they need to scope the work.

What can the API actually do?

The API supports the parts of the admissions workflow that tend to eat the most administrative time:

  • Invite applicants to Kira automatically. As applicants move through your admissions pipeline in your CRM, they can be invited to the Kira assessment at the proper stage.
  • Receive results back into your system of record. Applicant completion status, scores, and review completion can automatically be provided back to where your team already works using webhooks.
  • Provide easy access to applicant responses for review. Kira Review links are provided for each individual applicant so you can incorporate an easy access to the applicant responses in Kira.
  • Support reporting. Your team can extract data on a schedule to feed institutional dashboards or year-over-year analysis.

Why does this matter for an admissions team?

The practical benefits are usually felt in three places:

Less manual work. Uploading spreadsheets and copying results is the kind of task that scales badly. An integration removes it entirely.

Fewer errors. Every manual transfer is a chance for a typo, a missed applicant, or a stale list. Automated syncing avoids that.

Faster turnaround. Applicants get invited sooner, and reviewers see results sooner, which matters most during peak periods and rolling admissions with tight deadlines.

What do we need to get started?

Most institutions need three things:

  1. Someone on your technical team — often IT, CRM administration, or a Slate/Salesforce specialist — who can do the setup.
  2. An API authorization token, which we provide.
  3. An interview and its UID to test and work with, which we can also provide or you can create in the Kira Admin Platform.

How do I test the API?

You will require an API authorization token in order to test any of the requests within our API documentation. If you are logged in to Kira with an account that has an authorization token associated with it, your token will automatically be added to the test Authorization value.

Please note test requests within the documentation will proceed with the action as if you had made the API call elsewhere. For example, if you were to test the Create applicants endpoint, you would be inviting those applicants to the interview you used in the endpoint URL. We suggest using a test interview as your sandbox environment for this reason.

Common Integrations

Kira supports integration with any software that can make HTTP requests, but we here are some that we have integrated with in the past:

  • Zap Solutions AMP
  • Enrollment Rx
  • Full Fabric
  • Liaison CAS
  • Salesforce
  • Slate
